About the School

We educate empathetic, resilient and
entrepreneurial citizens

What distinguishes us

Education through Art

Our students experience different forms of artistic expression, developing different skills: imagination, creativity, and aesthetic and artistic sensitivity.

Through contact with various languages and diversified teaching in the artistic area, namely in the areas of visual arts, music, and theatre, they build multiple and complementary learning.

What distinguishes us

Integrated english and Cambridge Certification

Our students benefit from an integrated learning of the English language: in an immersive and informal context – naturally present in their daily routines – and in formal academic moments – classes.

This learning is carried out in a school context, through significant everyday experiences, facilitates the appropriation of the English language and the construction of a relationship of familiarity and pleasure with the language.

What distinguishes us

Pedagogical and cultural legacy

The educational project at Colégio Quadrante respects the pedagogical legacy and identity of the two projects that risen from it.

Students develop activities and projects with a social impact where they get to know and value the legacy of the local community of Cascais – natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

What distinguishes us

Technological Responsible Integration

Our educational project includes training students in the area of digital education. The aim is the pedagogical integration and responsible use of digital technologies and the innovation and improvement of learning, valuing interdisciplinarity and active methodologies supported by digital.

What distinguishes us

Intercultural and Inclusive Environment

Our school offers an intercultural and inclusive educational environment. We welcome students and families of multiple nationalities – a reflection of our local community – that we integrate, valuing diversity, mutual respect, and cultural exchange.

We have the support of Portuguese teachers, who specialises in non-native Portuguese language teaching and the Multidisciplinary Support Team for Inclusive Education.

What distinguishes us

Active citizenship and commitment to sustainability

At our school, students are encouraged early on to exercise active citizenship and assume a commitment to sustainability.

They develop numerous activities and projects, becoming agents of change, conscious and responsible, in favour of a more sustainable future.

Mission and values

Our mission is, in a familiar, intercultural and inclusive environment, to educate creative, resilient and collaborative children, with confidence to face present and future challenges.

History

The history of Colégio Quadrante is the story of two educational projects with recognised quality and tradition in Cascais, which met and joined after joining the Project To Be group, with a clear identification with its mission and values.

Both projects – Escolinha Tia Ló and Colégio Europa – were family schools, which always favoured individual attention to each student and a close connection with families and the local community. These were projects that respected the pedagogical and cultural legacy of the school of its founders and the legacy of the local community – natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

Colégio Quadrante project was built on the need to continue previous projects, on recognition of their complementarity and on the desire to build a new project that could benefit from synergies in terms of teaching, teams, and educational places (after renovation work on the former Colégio Europa).
